As a leader in business law in Canada, McMillan LLP is at the forefront of corporate securities transactional work. Our Capital Markets Group advises on, plans and implements merger and acquisition transactions and a wide range of capital markets transactions, including public and private equity and debt offerings, government finance and investment fund/structured product offerings. We also deal with regulatory compliance matters and securities litigation in the courts and before administrative tribunals, and advise governments on securities regulation policy.

We act for a variety of clients (domestic and foreign issuers of debt and equity securities, municipal, territorial and provincial governments, multinationals, financial institutions, investment banks, investment advisers, securities dealers and other market participants) and have extensive experience in all areas of securities law practice. Our practitioners are highly skilled at structuring and closing complex transactions in Canadian, U.S. and international capital markets and providing innovative transactional advice and solutions.

Our understanding of securities transactions from the client's perspective is enhanced by experiences that a number of our lawyers have had as corporate counsel, corporate officers, and in staff positions with the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Ontario Securities Commission.
Our Capital Markets Group is supported by experts from other practice areas within the firm to provide a full array of services, including tax, competition, financial services, restructuring, litigation, real estate, environmental and intellectual property.
