Professional Experience Peter Cathcart is a former Section Head of the Corporate/Commercial Group and a former Managing Partner of the firm. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws at Osgoode Hall and is a member of the Bar of Ontario.

Peter practices corporate/commercial law specializing in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, financial institution regulation, joint ventures, privatization and transportation law. He was lead counsel at McMillan to the consortium that assumed the management and control of the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1998 and managed the McMillan Binch team in the preparation and negotiation of the several complex agreements that were entered into at that time as well as the letters patents, by-laws and governance procedures relating to the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation as the representative of the Province of Ontario and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Canada.

Peter is a Past Chair of the Board of Governors, University of Windsor and of the Council of Chairs, Council of Ontario Universities. He is a director and officer of several Canadian corporations and charitable organizations including Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd., ABSG Consulting (Canada) Ltd., "K" Line Canada Ltd., and the Governor's Council of the St. Michael's Hospital Foundation. He is also Chair of the Geoffrey H. Wood Foundation and the Shepherds' Trust (Archdiocese of Toronto).

Peter is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on corporate and transportation matters.
