Professional Activities
Lindsay Goldberg is a partner and member of the Litigation Group in McMillan's Vancouver office. Lindsay represents banks and other financial industry lenders in B.C. mortgage enforcement proceedings (foreclosure) and collections. He provides unique services to his clientele, including assumption of high-level administration accountabilities such as property inspections and management, listings and sales, and mortgage insurance claims. His leadership in these area results in decreased risk and lower staff requirements for lenders.
Being results driven, Lindsay manages complex projects with tight timelines in a manner underscoring his senior level of expertise in the field. His clients are fully informed and comfortable with the legal ramifications of all decisions and recommendations. Thorough attention to detail ensures that all aspects are covered. Representative Transactions
Lindsay regularly acts on behalf of a number of banks, trust and life insurance companies in B.C. mortgage enforcement proceedings (foreclosure) and collections. Some of his recent representative work on behalf of clients has included:
- Case: Scotia Mortgage Corporation v. Leung - Arguing on behalf of Scotia Mortgage Corporation, Lindsay successfully argued on behalf of the lender, resulting in Chief Justice ruling that the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and restraint orders do no prevent foreclosure proceedings or conclude a lender's mortgage realization.
Lindsay was presented with a certificate 'In recognition of continuous support and contribution to [the bank's] success in attaining the strategic goal of a C$100M write-off reduction in 2003' by a key lender in the field.
